Event Preview: Headmix & Tragic Roundabout Live Music Extravaganza
If you’ve ever found yourself losing it to a late-night set at Glastonbury’s Shangri-La, you have Chris Tofu and his production company Continental Drifts to thank. But before Chris Tofu earned an MBE for his monumental behind-the-scenes work in the UK festival circuit, he was a founding member of the legendary ’90s underground free-festival band Tofu Love Frogs.
When Tofu departed the band in 1996 to build the Continental Drifts empire, the remaining members of Tofu Love Frogs merged with Doo the Moog to forge something completely new: Headmix (also known as Headmix Collective). Carrying the torch of the muddy, joyous, and eclectic UK free festival scene, Headmix quickly cemented themselves as one of the definitive and most original festival bands of their generation.
Now, decades later, that deep-rooted festival heritage is returning to its hometown for an unmissable reunion.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, two veteran acts that emerged from Brighton’s vibrant 1990s music and festival scene are sharing a bill for the first time in years. Taking over Klub Kaput—the sprawling 300-capacity big-top venue at the Caravanserai site—this promises to be a mini-festival in its own right.
