Let’s get one thing straight right out of the gate: we love Brighton. The city is a legendary, undisputed heavyweight champion of the UK music scene. But if you rely solely on the national music press, you’d be forgiven for thinking the South East’s musical heartbeat stops at the A27.

We know better.

The truth is, the South East is teeming with world-class grassroots venues, fiercely independent promoters, and groundbreaking bands. Our mission is to shine a massive spotlight on the entire region—because some of the best gigs of your life are happening right now in coastal pubs, converted clubs, and basement dives across Sussex, Kent, and Essex. We exist to connect passionate music fans with the artists, promoters, and venues that make the South East so special.

We are proud advocates for the artists making noise in the rehearsal rooms of our major counties:

  • Sussex: Beyond the Brighton indie-pop machine, rural and coastal Sussex is churning out ferocious riot grrrl punk, heavy psych-rock, and a thriving DIY underground.
  • Kent: The Medway garage-rock legacy is still alive, but today’s Kent scene is a hotbed of angular post-punk, shoegaze, and alt-metal, bypassing the London-centric industry machine.
  • Essex: Essex has a rich, working-class rock and roll heritage. Today, it’s delivering everything from razor-sharp indie rock and socially conscious hip-hop to some of the tightest metalcore outfits in the country.
